Go Skateboarding Day Ends Badly for Kids

Warning, this is just a sickening video for any parent to see. Kids celebrating in Arkansas on "Go Skateboarding" day are accosted by a violent police officer taking himself way too seriously. The officer has since been suspended pending an investigation. Hopefully, he will be fired for his actions on the video.

Seriously? That is a joke. That officer needs to start fighting crime instead of bullying kids on skateboards.

Coming from L.A. police brutality is nothing new. But to think that this is justifiable by city ordinance? I'd love to see the policy where it states that a male cop is allowed to place his hands on a female minor. She did not resist arrest, she did not heckle nor provoke the officer. If the officer wanted to take action, he should've confiscated the skateboards. If it indeed is skateboarding that was the infringement, seeing that he was clearly out-numbered by the teens, the proper thing to have done was to call for back up, not use excessive violence. I'm not sure what Arkansas' regulations are, but generally it's one cop to two people here. If even. It's attrocious. It's dispicable. It's disgusting. If this officer had children of his own, and had their school security handle them in such a way, he would be just as upset. CHOKING is not a police technique. Pepper spray, tasering, etc. are police technique. Physical violence and such acts are supposed to be diminished and controlled by law-enforcing folk, not exerted.

I totally agree.. That is horrible.

OMFG...I hope that slap happy cop loses his damn job!! If I was the parents of the kids...I would be IRATE!!!

lose his job they need to put him in jail for assault. You try and teach your kids that cops are good people and then you see something like this. Yeah I'm not sure if I would want mine to seek one out.

Im sorry, but If that cop grabbed one of my friends like that and was "arresting them" the way he was, that camera woulda been set down and my board woulda went thru his fucking skull. DO NOT EVER grab a girl/woman/lady like that no matter who you are or how "tough" you are. If you feel tough roughing up 6 kids for skating on GO SKATEBOARDING DAY, your not a very classy guy. Clearly he isnt. Kill the bastard...Id liek to see someone three times the size of him toss him around and see if he likes it. Fucking faggot ass...He isnt even a cop, hes a discrase.

I wish bad things for him...like job loss, etc.

funny how people jump quickly into an uproar over things like this claiming police brutality and such when they dont even take the time to read the laws.

Duty to refrain from resisting arrest:

834a PC. If a person has knowledge, or by the exercise of reasonable
care, should have knowledge, that he is being arrested by a peace
officer, it is the duty of such person to refrain from using force or
any weapon to resist such arrest.

835 PC. An arrest is made by an actual restraint of the person, or by
submission to the custody of an officer. The person arrested may be
subjected to such restraint as is reasonable for his arrest and
detention.

835a PC. Any peace officer who has reasonable cause to believe that
the person to be arrested has committed a public offense may use
reasonable force to effect the arrest, to prevent escape or to
overcome resistance.
A peace officer who makes or attempts to make an arrest need not
retreat or desist from his efforts by reason of the resistance or
threatened resistance of the person being arrested; nor shall such
officer be deemed an aggressor or lose his right to self-defense by
the use of reasonable force to effect the arrest or to prevent escape
or to overcome resistance.

Resist arrest:

148. (a) (1) Every person who willfully resists, delays, or
obstructs any public officer, peace officer, or an emergency medical
technician, as defined in Division 2.5 (commencing with Section 1797)
of the Health and Safety Code, in the discharge or attempt to
discharge any duty of his or her office or employment, when no other
punishment is prescribed, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding
one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail
not to exceed one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment.

Officer clearly told them they were under arrests. All three resisted, interfered, and even ran. Physically resisted and were holding skateboards (If you don't think you can seriously injure or kill someone with a skateboard I'd be glad to give you a personal demonstration). Had they complied in the first place there would not have been a confrontation at all. Could it have been handled by the officer a little differently, maybe. Could have it been avoided by the snotty little brats complying with a lawful order and then not interfering when the first guy got arrested, yes.

All these idiots crying police brutality deserve to be marched out infront of their homes in the middle of the night and shot by the police.

You idiots have no idea what police brutality is.

As for the officer who arrested these young criminals, I think he deserves a medal for his courage and outstanding performance.

Sorry, but I don't agree. I am a big fan of my local police officers, but I really can't see how this officer showed "courage". When teens start trying to calm an adult down, that's a sign things have gone too far...

"Officer clearly told them they were under arrests. All three resisted, interfered, and even ran."

yep...good assumption? didnt watch all of it i presume....so basically when he told the little girl that she had to sit down...she had to huh? so when she said no that gave the officer the right to arrest her?or what about the boy who said he had a picture of him choking the boy....the officer never told him he was under arrest... he just told him to come to him...why? BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WAS KNEE DEEP AFTER THAT BOY SAID IT

"Each person has the right to resist an unlawful arrest. In such a case, the person attempting the arrest stands in the position of the wrongdoer and may be resisted by the use of force, as in self-defense." (State v. Mobley, 240 N.C. 476, 83 S.E. 2d 100)

"All these idiots crying police brutality deserve to be marched out infront of their homes in the middle of the night and shot by the police.

You idiots have no idea what police brutality is.

As for the officer who arrested these young criminals, I think he deserves a medal for his courage and outstanding performance."

well...i wouldn't say its police brutality, but it is excessive force, the picture clearly shows the police officer choking the kid, probley with all of his weight...but thats not a big deal right? because he just probley outweighs the kid by about a hundred and fifty pounds...yeah your real smart

oh and what i love most about your comment "All these idiots crying police brutality deserve to be marched out infront of their homes in the middle of the night and shot by the police."

are you a cop? are you married to a cop and related to one? you know that above statement is the most ridiculously up surd thing i've heard in a while...who are you to tell if someone deserves to die? thats an injustice in its own some fool on the internet (behind a monitor) talking shit about "people deserving" to be shot by the police....i do believe police brutality happens...yeah not all cops are bad....but it happens everyday

and one last thing "If you don't think you can seriously injure or kill someone with a skateboard I'd be glad to give you a personal demonstration" to the person who said this your fucking(really sorry, parents who are reading) stupid....of course a skateboard could do that....but i doubt that would be crossing through the mind of A NORMAL THIRTEEN YEAR OLD...

so in closing those kids were trying to have fun...yeah we don't know what happened before the camera turned on....but none the less excessive force WAS used, espically on the little girl who simply refused to sit down and the boy who was choked

i came across this just by looking more into the story (after seeing it on youtube) i think this is a great place (not for me since im a male) but kudos to all the mothers that support this cause and for all the mothers out there who apparently doesn't know right from wrong i ask

why hasn't your children been taken from you yet....because obviously your not fit to be mothers

sorry for the cussing and horrible typing skills(i don't use punctuation so i can type faster)

sorry for such a delayed comment
