Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery Powerplay Giveaway!

We just closed up our two latest giveaways, and wouldn't you know it, Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery stepped right up to fill in the gap with a brand new giveaway for Cool Moms Rule! readers to promote their new Powerplay program.

Powerplay is a comprehensive and convenient subscription service that lets your family rent both movies and video games from a large selection of titles right at your local video store.

With no late fees or due dates, Powerplay offers an alternative to mail-only services in that you can sign up right at your local Hollywood Video or Movie Gallery and deal face-to-face with a sales associate. You select your movie or game right there, where you can read the backs of the boxes and get a feel for the rental, or ask an associate for a movie or game recommendation.

Another nice feature of Powerplay is that you can sign up for one of several flexible options, each offering an allotment of points, and then use your points towards rentals. You can decide which plan fits your lifestyle, and--especially helpful in this tough economy--your budget.

Plans range from just $7.99 a month for the Silver plan (offering 8 points a month) up to $39.99 for the Diamond plan (consisting of unlimited rentals). Currently, movies are 2, 3 or 4 points (4 point movies are the Blu-Ray versions), while games go for just 5 points a piece--much more affordable than those $50 or even $60 game prices we're seeing for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Don't want to see a movie that month? No time to play a game? No problem--unlike other plans I've seen, Powerplay gives you the ability to roll points over to the next month! So you can save up those points for the times when you need them most.

Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery want to know what Cool Moms Rule! readers think of Powerplay, so they're offering you a chance to win one of four copies of Quantum of Solace on DVD for your opinion!

If you missed Quantum of Solace in the theaters, Daniel Craig makes a great Bond, and this latest installment really livens up the Bond franchise, with action-packed chase scenes and intense fight sequences that put you right in the center of the action. As someone who enjoyed the Bond books, I really feel like Quantum of Solace was a lot truer to the character of Bond as envisioned by the author, Ian Fleming, as well.

The coolest part from reading about Powerplay, would be the ability to roll over points. Some months nothing comes out that we want to watch, and other times we rent 4 videos at a time, so this would be a great benefit.

Thanks for the giveaway,

The roll over points would do it for me. I doubt if my family would have any left over but if they did it would feel good knowing that I didn't lose those points.

This sounds great. I, too like the rollover points because sometimes there isn't anything worth watching and I am truly sick of Blockbuster.

I am not the big one in the house for video renting, but I can see how Powerplay would be HUGE to my husband and son. Some months we're away or too busy outdoors to watch videos, I like the rollover feature.

Hi, is your button code correct?? I never saw one so long! Kindly email me if it's ok to use.

To be honest I'm not sure how much I like it.
If you pay $7.99 you get 8 points. Which if you rent BluRay movies (@ 4 per movie) that's only 2 rentals. To me I'm not saving any money.
Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't seem like a very good promotion.

I think Powerplay sounds like a great new way for renting DVDs and games. I really like all of the options for membership that they offer. What stands out as the most useful option is that Powerplay gives you the ability to roll points over to the next month.

Thanks so much for the generous giveaway...I would be SO thrilled to win! I have been dying to see Quantum of Solace and never made it to the movies while it was in theaters.

I really really like the fact that your points can roll over into the next month. Our family goes through movie phases and game phases....we watch and play a ton and then nothing! Very helpful. Reasonable points for rentals too.

I love the ideal of picking your points plan and the rollover is so cool some months no time to watch movies versus other when you can't get enough. Thanks for the giveaway

I like the combination of no due dates/late fees with the rollover points. It makes it feel like you're not wasting money if you don't use up all of your points each month and there's no pressure/stress to return stuff!

Thank you for the giveaway.

I like that you can mix DVDs and games and that you can select items in-store. Cool plan!

I like that you can pick your plan and that you can roll over points. I'm not sure if I am sold on it though.
